Missouri University of Science and Technology will host a reception for the spring art show titled “Art Inspired by Science and Engineering” in early March.
The Campus Art Committee will present a reception at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Leach Theatre Lobby in Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo. The reception is free and open to the public. Drinks and light snacks will be served during the event, which will be hosted by Luce Myers, lecturer of arts, languages, and philosophy at S&T.
The show is designed to exhibit original works that showcase research and innovation created at S&T. Media include paint, glass and photography. Each work is self-produced and relevant to the study and research that takes place on the campus. Works will be displayed from February to May in the Leach Theatre Lobby.
“This is an innovative showcase that allows art to reflect research,” says Myers. “The pieces are dynamic interpretations of research through the artistic lens of campus and community artists.”
