The local community is invited to attend and participate in Ignite Rolla, an evening of brief “TED Talk-style” lectures designed to showcase the ideas being generated by members of the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus and the Rolla community.
The event, sponsored by S&T’s Council of Graduate Students (CGS), will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in St. Pat’s Ballroom C of the Havener Center at Missouri S&T. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Tickets, which are required for admission, will be available starting Wednesday, Feb. 12, by emailing igniterolla@gmail.com. Tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Ignite Rolla will consist of a series of 12-minute talks designed to engage the campus and community. Topics could include research, work or hobbies – anything that is a source of inspiration that can be shared to “ignite” the community. All talks will be video-recorded and shared on the CGS website following the event.
CGS is seeking presenters from the campus and Rolla community for Ignite Rolla. Interested participants should submit abstracts for consideration by the CGS by Friday, Feb. 7. More information, including instructions for submitting abstracts, is available at mst.orgsync.com/org/cgs/IgniteRolla.
For more information about the submission process, ticket procurement or the event itself, email igniterolla@gmail.com.
