The Leach Theatre Family Series at Missouri University of Science and Technology gets a wild start this fall with lasers juggled at impossible speeds, followed by an acrobatic adventure to 1865 and a beloved book-turned-musical featuring everyone’s favorite candy maker. All performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo.
Tickets are available beginning Monday, Aug. 22, from the Leach Theatre Box Office. Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets may also be purchased with a credit card by calling 573-341-4219.
The 2011-12 Leach Family Series includes:
Mark Nizer 3D: Expect the Impossible, 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16. The first performer to incorporate 3-D technology into a live show, Nizer brings his brilliant and hilarious one-man juggling extravaganza to Rolla. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for Missouri S&T students and youth.
Cirque Mechanics’ “Boom Town,” 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. Inspired by early mining equipment and prospectors’ adventurous spirit, Boom Town features acrobatic performers using mechanical apparatus as scenery and props. Tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for youth and $10 for Missouri S&T students.
“Willy Wonka,” presented by Missouri S&T’s Miner League Theatre Players, 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012. A stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” with songs from the classic film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and youth.
The Leach Family Series offers discounts for purchases of four or more tickets to any of these performances.
