Dr. Henry Wiebe, vice provost of global learning at Missouri University of Science and Technology, will present outstanding teaching awards to Missouri S&T faculty members engaged in distance education during a campus ceremony on Wednesday, May 4. “This year’s awardees received extremely high ratings from our students,” says Wiebe.
Global Learning 2011 Outstanding Teaching Award of Excellence recipients:
- Dr. Joel Burken, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
- Dr. Jeffrey Cawlfield, professor of geological sciences and engineering and director of freshman engineering
- Dr. Steven Corns, assistant professor of engineering management and systems engineering
- Dr. Benjamin “Duke” Dow Jr., associate teaching professor of engineering management and systems engineering and director of the Middle East program
- Dr. Barry Flachsbart, professor of business and information technology
- Dr. Roger LaBoube, Curators’ Teaching Professor emeritus of civil, architectural and environmental engineering and director of the Student Design and Experiential Learning Center
- Dr. John Myers, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
- Dr. Vincent “Wen-Bin” Yu, associate professor of business and information technology.

- Dr. Victor Birman, professor of mechanical engineering and director of S&T’s Engineering Education Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis
- Dr. Richard Bullock, professor emeritus of mining and nuclear engineering
- Dr. Randy Canis, adjunct professor of computer science at S&T’s Engineering Education Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis
- Dr. K. Chandrashekhara, Curators’ Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
- Dr. Craig Claybaugh, assistant professor of business and information technology.
- Dr. Elizabeth Cudney, assistant professor of engineering management and systems engineering
- Dr. Lokesh Dharani, Curators’ Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and senior research investigator at S&T’s Materials Research Center
