S&T to test emergency notification whistle Jan. 5

Missouri University of Science and Technology will test its emergency notification whistle at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5.
The alert whistle is part of the university’s emergency notification system. The whistle would be activated only in the event of an active threat on the campus, says Missouri S&T Police Chief Christine Laughlin.
The whistle is located at the Missouri S&T Power Plant on State Street. Although the whistle is intended only to notify the campus community, Rolla residents living near campus may hear the whistle during Wednesday’s test.
