The Missouri S&T University and Community Symphony Orchestra and the S&T Chamber Orchestra will perform their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall. The orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Robert J. Cesario, assistant professor of arts, languages and philosophy.
Tickets are $3 for the general public and free for S&T students. They can be purchased at the door the night of the performance.
“The orchestras combine people from our local community as well as more traditional university students and some faculty,” says Cesario. “They give us the opportunity to come together as one to make great music and enjoy each other as well as our artistic endeavors.”
The Chamber Orchestra will perform “Little Suite,” by Carl Nielsen. The University and Community Symphony Orchestra will perform the overture from “Scylla et Glaucus,” by Jean-Marie LeClair and “Carmen Suite 2,” by Georges Bizet.
The orchestras will give their final concert of the season at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in Leach Theater.
