A graduate student from Missouri S&T is one of 81 of the nation’s
brightest engineers selected to attend the National Academy of Engineers 14th
annual U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium in September.
Reece Lumsden, a Ph.D. student in systems engineering at Missouri S&T,
was nominated by The Boeing Co. for his innovative research and technical work.
The participants were selected from a group of 230 applicants to attend the
symposium.
The symposium will be held Sept. 18-20 at the University of New Mexico in
Albuquerque and is hosted by Sandia National Laboratories. The event brings
together engineers ages 30 to 45 who are performing exceptional engineering
research and technical work in a variety of disciplines. Subjects to be
discussed include nanoelectric devices, cognitive engineering, drug delivery
systems and understanding and countering the proliferation of weapons of mass
destruction.
