Students between the ages of 12 and 14 can take a behind-the-scenes look at
robots during a camp held this summer at Missouri University of Science and
Technology.
Robotics camp will be held June 12-14 and July 29-31 on the Missouri S&T
campus. During this hands-on program, students will learn the basic principles
of robotics, including electronics, sensors motor and servo control techniques,
and programming. Students also will learn about robotics applications in
today’s society.
Using the LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Invention System, students will team up
to invent, design, build and program robots to respond to their environment
while learning the basics of computer programming. This hands-on camp gives
students the opportunity for exploration and practical application of math,
science, programming and engineering concepts. No robots experience is required
to participate, and all materials will be provided.
Students attending Robotics Camp can choose to live on the Missouri S&T
campus during the three-day program, or commute to campus. The cost of Robotics
Camp is $385 for students residing on campus and $335 for students who choose
to commute.
The registration deadline is June 2 for students attending July 12-14, and
July 21 for students attending July 29-31. For more information, contact the
Missouri S&T’s office of distance and continuing education at 573-341-4992.
