The theater program at the University of Missouri-Rolla will present the Neil Simon comedy “Rumors” this November on the Leach Theatre stage.

Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 4, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla. Admission is $8 for the general public and $5 for UMR students with a valid student I.D. For ticket information, contact the Leach Theatre Box Office at 573-341-4219.

“Rumors” is Neil Simon at his best. The rib tickling begins when four couples arrive at an anniversary party. The party never begins, however, because the host’s wife is missing and he has suffered a flesh wound after shooting himself in the head. The cover-up from the host’s lawyer becomes more and more difficult to sustain as the other guests arrive. Doors slam and hilarity abounds as the couples become more crazed and confused.

The following UMR students are participating in the performance of “Rumors.”

A.J. Bedwell, a senior in biological sciences from Scott City, Mo., plays Claire Ganz.

Katie Bryant, a freshman in interdisciplinary engineering from Fenton, Mo., plays Officer Pudney.

Dan Caligiari, an undecided freshman from Florissant, Mo., plays Officer Welch.

Jim Driscoll, a senior in civil engineering from Brandsville, Mo., plays Lenny Ganz.

Amanda Engelke, a senior in history from Rolla, Mo., plays Chris Gorman.

James Guise, a senior in mining engineering from Poplar Bluff, Mo., plays Ken Gorman.

Adam Kay, a senior in computer science from St. Louis plays Glenn Cooper.

Wendy King, a sophomore in history from Webb City, Mo., plays Cookie Cusack.

Natalie McGavock, a junior in economics from Rolla, Mo., plays Cassie Cooper.

Mitchell Niehoff, a junior in chemical engineering from Moscao Mills, Mo., plays Ernie Cusack.
