The 2005-2006 season of the University of Missouri-Rolla Campus Performing Arts Series continues this month with a performance by contemporary dance company Hubbard Street 2, the newest addition to Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
The performance will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets on the UMR campus. Admission is $28 for adults and $18 for students age 18 and younger.
Hubbard Street dancers inspire audiences to have fun while exploring a range of emotions. The company’s unconventional repertoire helps break down preconceptions about dance, juxtaposing pieces based on a variety of dance traditions and genres. During the engaging, seductive, and often edgy performances of Hubbard Street dancers, audiences are drawn into the dancers’ world, moving through the choreographed narratives of each piece.
The next installment in the UMR Campus Performing Arts Series will be a performance by vocal group Naturally 7 at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2006.
