The University of Missouri-Rolla physics department will host three Visitors’ Night during the fall semester at UMR’s astronomical observatory. Weather permitting, the public is invited to view the skies through the observatory’s 16-inch telescope.
Fall Schedule
8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The first quarter moon will be visible.
7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. The moon and Mars will be visible.
7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. The moon and Mars will be visible.
There is no admission charge and no reservations are required. Viewing is subject to weather conditions. The observatory is located on the UMR campus adjacent to the Stonehenge replica near Highway 63 North, north of V.H. McNutt Hall and west of St. Patrick’s Lane.
