Two inducted into UMR Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Two electrical and computer engineers were inducted into the Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla during the academy’s annual meeting Friday, April 8.

The academy is an advisory group to the UMR electrical and computer engineering department. Founded in 1980, it is composed of electrical and computer engineering alumni and other electrical and computer engineers who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.

Inducted were:

Kelvin T. Erickson of Rolla, Mo., chair of the electrical and computer engineering department at UMR. Erickson earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UMR in 1978 and 1979, respectively. He obtained a Ph.D. degree from Iowa State University in 1983. All three degrees were in electrical engineering.

Jack F. Morris of Rolla, Mo., associate professor emeritus at UMR. Morris received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wichita in 1962 and a master’s degree from UMR in 1965, in electrical engineering.
