Toby Case of Huntsville, Ala., a teaching assistant in the University of Missouri Rolla’s electrical and computer engineering department, was named the 2004 Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant by UMR Parents’ Association.
Case is working on a master’s degree in electrical engineering at UMR. He received bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and physics from UMR in December 2003.
The annual award is presented during UMR’s Family Day, which was held Oct. 30 on campus. The award consists of a $500 stipend and a certificate of appreciation.
Each year, the award recipient is determined based on student evaluations done at the close of each semester. Results of the student evaluations are compiled by the UMR Academic Council Committee on Effective Teaching.
