Dr. Hank Pernicka, associate professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla, is one of nine U.S. researchers selected to participate in this year’s Boeing A.D. Welliver Faculty Summer Fellowship program.

Eight faculty in the UMR School of Mines and Metallurgy recently received excellence in teaching awards.

Two UMR students were chosen as the first UMR School of Mines and Metallurgy academy scholars during UMR’s annual Academy of School of Mines and Metallurgy meeting on April 16.

Adam Tiehes of Perryville, Mo., a senior in architectural and civil engineering at UMR received the Newman Scholarship from UMR’s Cardinal Newman Catholic Campus Ministry on May 10.

UMR spring commencement will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, in UMR’s Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building, 10th Street and Bishop Avenue.

Dr. Delbert Day of Rolla, Mo., Curators’ Professor emeritus of ceramic engineering at UMR and co-founder of Mo-Sci Corp. in Rolla., will deliver the commencement address during UMR’s Annual Commencement Saturday, May 15.
