The University of Missouri-Rolla is pleased to announce the names of the elementary and middle school students who took top awards in its 2007 Leila Thompson Flagg Art Contest. Ninety entries, from nine schools throughout the state, were judged in the contest and were on display during February in the Havener Center lobby.

Federal, state, local and campus law enforcement officials have concluded their on-site investigation into the threat posed by a UMR student which prompted a cancellation of classes at the University of Missouri-Rolla today, Tuesday, Feb. 27. All campus facilities have resumed normal operation.

The City of Rolla will host a follow-up news conference at 11:30 a.m. this morning about the situation on the University of Missouri-Rolla campus. The news conference will be held in the Council Chambers at Rolla City Hall located at 901 N. Elm St. in downtown Rolla.

All classes at the University of Missouri-Rolla have been cancelled for Tuesday, Feb. 27, due to a threat affecting the Butler-Carlton Civil Building on campus.

At approximately 2:32 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, the University of Missouri-Rolla Police Department responded to a call regarding a UMR student who was threatening terrorist type actions.

Classes at the University of Missouri-Rolla will resume tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 28), after a threat affecting the civil engineering building forced officials to close the campus today.

The University of Missouri-Rolla will host the Missouri Region 8 History Day contest Friday, March 2, at the Havener Center. More than 250 students from seven schools in a four-county area of the state will participate. This year’s theme is “Triumph and Tragedy in History.”
