A better way to reliably and comprehensively diagnose lesions caused by cancers, 3-D print flexible metal structures, and propel micro-satellites into space could all be a reality in the near future thanks to research funding from the University of Missouri System.

Nixon, Middleton to speak at Missouri S&T commencement

More than 1,200 Missouri University of Science and Technology graduates will be awarded degrees during two commencement ceremonies to be held at Missouri S&T this month.

Michael A. Middleton, interim president of the University of Missouri System, will speak at the first commencement ceremony, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14. More than 600 degrees will be awarded during the 10 a.m. ceremony, which is for all graduate candidates and undergraduate candidates in arts, business and science programs.

Missouri Gov. Jeremiah W. (Jay) Nixon will speak at the second commencement ceremony, which will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14. More than 600 undergraduate engineering degrees will be awarded during the 4 p.m. ceremony.

Both ceremonies will be held in the Gale Bullman Building, located at 10th Street and Bishop Avenue in Rolla. [Read more…]

Presidential search forum to be held April 4

All Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend an open forum with members of the search committee for the next University of Missouri System president. A Ph.D. student from Missouri University of Science and Technology will further his research in lithium-ion batteries through an Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) at the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU). His traineeship is funded by a five-year, $3 million grant awarded to MU by the National Science Foundation.
