Missouri University of Science and Technology student Carmen Vogt, a junior in civil engineering from Rolla, was crowned the 2008 Queen of Love and Beauty for the 100th annual St. Pat’s Celebration at Missouri S&T. Vogt was nominated by Tau Kappa Epsilon.
The four women chosen as members of the queen’s court were:
First runner-up, Princess of Peace and Happiness – Jennifer Brittany Hill, a junior in business and management systems from Oxford, Miss. Hill was nominated by Alpha Phi Omega.
Second runner-up, Countess of Chastity and Virtue – Christina Ray, a senior in engineering management from San Antonio, Texas. Ray was nominated by Beta Sigma Psi.
Third runner-up, Duchess of Desire and Ecstasy – Brianna Force, a senior in geology and geophysics from Edina, Mo. Force was nominated by Kappa Sigma.
Fourth runner-up, Lady of Honor and Devotion – Brianne Blue, a junior in biological sciences from Wildwood, Mo. Blue represented Delta Omicron Lambda.
The names of the queen and her court were announced at formal coronation ceremonies held at 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall on Missouri S&T’s campus.
