Missouri S&T students chosen to speak at commencement

Four graduating seniors at Missouri University of Science and Technology have been chosen to speak during commencement ceremonies at Missouri S&T on Saturday, Dec. 16. Two students – one representing the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business (CASB) and one representing the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) – will speak during each ceremony.

S&T alumna Kathy Walker to speak at Missouri S&T commencement

Kathy Walker of Olathe, Kansas, managing director at OPENAIR Equity Partners, will speak at two commencement ceremonies at Missouri University of Science and Technology this month. Walker earned a master of science degree in engineering management from Missouri S&T in 1982 and is the incoming president of the Missouri S&T Board of Trustees.

Photos of Missouri S&T faculty on display in Paris

In 2015, French artist Marie-Hélène Le Ny spent four days on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus displaying her work and photographing and interviewing some of Missouri S&T’s female faculty in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. Now six of those photographs are on display in Paris.

Students in the architectural engineering design course at Missouri University of Science and Technology have created 15 potential designs for the future Rolla Animal Shelter, and they will present six of those plans to the public prior to the start of the Dec. 4, Rolla City Council meeting.

Missouri S&T renews partnership with Adobe

Missouri University of Science and Technology has embarked upon its fourth year of partnership with Adobe Technical Communication. This partnership gives students and faculty in the technical communication program hands-on access to Adobe’s industry-standard software. This partnership is made possible through Adobe Technical Communication’s University Outreach Program, which offers licenses for Adobe Technical Communication Suite to students and faculty in technical communication programs.

Death of Missouri S&T student reported

Missouri University of Science and Technology student Ryan Lewis, 19, of DeSoto, Missouri, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained from a fall at Thomas Jefferson Hall. He was a freshman in computer engineering.
