Missouri University of Science and Technology has earned four-year reaccreditation of its Intensive English Program by a national accrediting agency for English language programs and institutions.
Area musicians are invited to join the Rolla Town Band this summer. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16. The band is open to musicians age 14 and older. Players of all abilities are welcome, including those who have not played in recent years.
Donald and Barron Ryan, touring father and son pianists, will share their classic and contemporary performance style at a concert entitled “Music by Mavericks” on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus this May. This is the last performance in the 2015-16 Leach Theatre season.
The winners of the 12th annual Undergraduate Research Conference at Missouri University of Science and Technology have been announced. The conference, which was held on April 11 on the S&T campus, featured oral and poster exhibitions that represented work from students in nearly every major at Missouri S&T. Winners were awarded a cash prize of $750. Second- and third-place finishers received $500 and $250, respectively.

Elizabeth Bowles, a Ph.D. student in chemistry at Missouri S&T, has had a rather unconventional goal for the past several years: improve the care of patients with conditions like diabetes or pulmonary arterial hypertension by reducing severe adverse side effects of pharmaceuticals through a new and innovative drug delivery system.
Bowles first started tackling her goals as a researcher at Saint Louis University (SLU).
“My research advisor at SLU had the idea that red blood cells play a role in vessel dilation,” says Bowles. “We wanted to find out what effect the release of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) has on vessel dilation and how ATP levels tie in with different medical conditions.” [Read more…]
