Missouri S&T geologist named AAAS Fellow

Dr. Francisca Oboh-Ikuenobe of Missouri University of Science and Technology has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for her contributions to the advancement of palynology ─ the study of organic-walled microfossils such as pollen and spores ─ and her outstanding efforts in educating the next generation of Earth scientists. This year’s nearly 400 AAAS fellows will be formally announced in the AAAS News & Notes section of the journal Science on November 24. New fellows will be also be recognized during the organization’s 2018 annual meeting in Austin, Texas, in February.

Missouri S&T renews partnership with Adobe

Missouri University of Science and Technology has embarked upon its fourth year of partnership with Adobe Technical Communication. This partnership gives students and faculty in the technical communication program hands-on access to Adobe’s industry-standard software. This partnership is made possible through Adobe Technical Communication’s University Outreach Program, which offers licenses for Adobe Technical Communication Suite to students and faculty in technical communication programs.

Missouri University of Science and Technology student Ryan Lewis, 19, of DeSoto, Missouri, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained from a fall at Thomas Jefferson Hall. He was a freshman in computer engineering.
