The online master of science degree program in industrial-organizational psychology at Missouri University of Science and Technology is ranked second in the nation by the website AffordableColleges.com.

“In a review of schools across the nation, Missouri S&T’s program stood out in both quality and affordability,” says Erin Howell of AffordableColleges.com.

“I’m very happy to see this recognition for an outstanding online degree program that was established just a few years ago,” says Dr. Susan Murray, chair of Missouri S&T’s psychological science department, which offers the industrial-organizational psychology program. “The fact that our online degree in I-O psychology is ranked second in the nation is testament to the work of our outstanding faculty and the vision and hard work of the program coordinator, Dr. Nathan Weidner, and my predecessor, Dr. Nancy Stone, to create this program.”

Stone, a professor of psychological science, was chair of the department when the master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology was established in January 2014. Weidner is an assistant professor of psychological science.

The I-O psychology program was established to help meet a growing need for human resources and talent management professionals. The first master’s degree was awarded in May 2016. More information about the online program is available at dce.mst.edu/credit/degrees/iopsychology/.

To determine its rankings, AffordableColleges.com considered program costs, financial aid opportunities, net price and student loan default rates as well as enrollment, retention and graduation rates, student-to-faculty ratio and admissions rates.
