Perform in the Rolla Town Band this summer

Area musicians are invited to join the Rolla Town Band this summer. Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20. The band is open to musicians age 14 and older. Players of all abilities are welcome, including those who have not played in recent years.

Missouri S&T’s Baja car racing team ready to compete

Students from Missouri University of Science and Technology will demonstrate the engineering principles of off-road vehicles by racing a student-designed and -built Baja vehicle during the Baja SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Kansas collegiate design series.

Dr. Susan L. Murray has been named chair of psychological science at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Murray had served as interim chair since July 2015. Her appointment takes effect July 1.

Laser printing with nanoparticles holds promise for medical research

Electronic devices that can not only be implanted in the human body but also completely dissolve on their own – known as “bioresorbable” electronics – are envisioned by many as one of medical technology’s next frontiers. A new study by Missouri University of Science and Technology researchers suggests that a laser printing technique using nanoparticles could help unlock a more cost-effective approach to building sturdier and safer components.
