Associate S&T engineering dean earns outstanding educator award

A Missouri University of Science and Technology structural engineering professor who also oversees academic affairs in the university’s College of Engineering and Computing has been selected as a top educator by the Architectural Engineering Institute.

Dr. John Myers helped lead the development and implementation of the architectural engineering curriculum at S&T in 2000, soon after his arrival on campus. He spent a portion of the 2015-16 academic year as CEC acting vice provost and dean before returning to his position as the college’s associate dean of academic affairs. [Read more…]

Mary Reidmeyer named first recipient of S&T women’s advocate award

Dr. Mary Reidmeyer, teaching professor of ceramic engineering and outreach coordinator in materials science and engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named the recipient of the inaugural Dr. Elizabeth Cummins Women’s Advocate Award at Missouri S&T. She was honored during a campus ceremony on Wednesday, April 19.

The award is given to any Missouri S&T employee, regardless of gender or job designation, that demonstrates commitment to the women on campus through mentorship and advocacy and by setting an example through professional achievement. As part of the award, Reidmeyer received a $1,000 stipend funded by Missouri S&T graduate Cynthia Tang, founder and former chair of Insight Industries Inc. [Read more…]

Audra Merfeld-Langston is Missouri S&T’s 2017 Woman of the Year

Dr. Audra Merfeld-Langston, associate professor of French and chair of arts, languages and philosophy at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named the 2017 Woman of the Year at Missouri S&T. She was honored during a campus ceremony on Wednesday, April 19.

The Woman of the Year award is given annually to a female full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member in recognition of efforts to improve the campus environment for women and minorities. As part of the award, Merfeld-Langston received a $2,000 stipend funded by Missouri S&T graduate Cynthia Tang, founder and former chair of Insight Industries Inc. [Read more…]
