Father-son piano duo to perform at Leach Theatre

S&T’s Steel Bridge team earns second, qualifies for nationals

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Steel Bridge Design Team earned second place at the American Society of Civil Engineers’ 2016 Mid-Continent Student Conference that S&T hosted this past weekend. By doing so, the team qualified to compete at the national event, which will be held May 27-28 at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Academy of Civil Engineers inducts nine new members

Nine professionals with ties to Missouri University of Science and Technology were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Civil Engineers at a dinner and induction ceremony held at Hasselmann Alumni House in Rolla, Missouri, on April 21.

The academy recognizes outstanding alumni for their professional achievement and success, and it provides organized assistance to the civil engineering department at Missouri S&T.

Missouri University of Science and Technology presented outstanding teaching awards to Missouri S&T faculty members engaged in distance education during a campus ceremony on April 21. Faculty were recognized for their outstanding teaching, which was reflected in the quality of instruction, interaction with students and availability.

“Each of these faculty members has a strong commitment to the success of our distance programs, demonstrating their commitment to education, professional achievement and the growth of our students,” says Dr. Anthony R. Petroy, assistant vice chancellor for global learning at Missouri S&T. “These awards honor their hard work and dedication to teaching.” [Read more…]

S&T announces Undergraduate Research Conference winners

The winners of the 12th annual Undergraduate Research Conference at Missouri University of Science and Technology have been announced. The conference, which was held on April 11 on the S&T campus, featured oral and poster exhibitions that represented work from students in nearly every major at Missouri S&T. Winners were awarded a cash prize of $750. Second- and third-place finishers received $500 and $250, respectively.

Three inducted into S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Three electrical and computer engineers with ties to Missouri University of Science and Technology were inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineers during the academy’s induction ceremony, which was held at the Comfort Suites Conference Center in Rolla, Missouri, on April 21.

The academy is an advisory group to the Missouri S&T electrical and computer engineering department. Founded in 1980, the academy is composed of alumni and other electrical and computer engineers who have made outstanding contributions to their profession. [Read more…]
