‘Cyber Week’ to kick off KMST membership drive

Public radio station KMST’s annual fall membership drive will kick off with Cyber Week Sept. 7-13 on its website, kmst.org, followed by the station’s on-air portion of the membership drive, which will be held Sept. 14-22. The goal of the fall membership drive is $70,000.

Doe Run helps fund mining survey lab at S&T

A donation of $40,000 from The Doe Run Co. will help equip a new mining survey laboratory that is being built at Missouri University of Science and Technology. The lab will help provide innovative and practical learning opportunities for future mining engineers.

S&T PhD student receives INCOSE doctoral award

Lou Pape, a doctoral candidate in systems engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology from St. Louis, has received the 2013 Stevens Doctoral Award for Promising Research in Systems Engineering and Integration from the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Foundation. The award, which was presented at the group’s annual INCOSE International Symposium in Philadelphia, Pa., carries a $5,000 grant. [Read more…]

Hyoung Koo Lee named associate chair of mining and nuclear engineering

Dr. Hyoung Koo Lee, associate professor of mining and nuclear engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, has been named associate chair of the mining and nuclear engineering department and director of the Missouri S&T Nuclear Reactor. The appointment takes effect Sept. 1.
