Tim Albers, former associate vice president for enrollment management and director of admissions at Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison, Colo., has been named director of recruitment marketing and enrollment development at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Albers had served the enrollment management division in an interim capacity since January 2013. His appointment took effect April 1.
During Albers’ tenure at Western State College of Colorado, the freshman-to-sophomore retention rate grew from 50 percent to 63 percent and minority enrollment increased from 7 percent to 13 percent.
“Tim brings extensive experience in marketing and recruitment from both engineering and liberal arts universities,” says Laura Stoll, vice provost and dean of enrollment management at Missouri S&T. “He knows how to attract students to all of our majors and I am pleased that he will be leading our campus student recruitment marketing efforts.”
Albers previously served as director of admissions for Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., and senior associate director of admissions for the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.
Albers holds a bachelor of science degree in mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He also holds a master of science degree in education with a specialization in enrollment management from Capella University. He also attended the USA Group/Noel-Levitz Center for Enrollment Management and received facilitation and conflict management training from Learning Leadership Systems Inc.
“I am excited to be at Missouri University of Science and Technology,” Albers says. “I am thrilled to be part of the enrollment management division, and to be able to join an already successful marketing and enrollment team.”
