A student from Missouri S&T received the highest honor presented at the annual business meeting of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), held May 22-24 at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz.

Patrick Maloney, a senior in psychology from Festus, Mo., received NACURH's most prestigious award, the National Distinguished Service Award. In February, he received the Midwest Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (MACURH) Distinguished Service Award for his service to both the local residence halls and to the MACURH region, qualifying him for the national award.

MACURH is comprised of residence hall associations throughout Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and the Canadian province of Manitoba.

MACURH is one of eight regions affiliated with NACURH, the largest student run non-profit organization in the United States. It promotes the educational goals of residence-hall students through discussion groups, seminars and speakers at annual conferences, as well as other information exchanges throughout the year. More than 400 schools from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Qatar are affiliated with the organization.
