Missouri S&T will present the next event in the 2008-09 School Outreach Program, "Stolen Moments: The First One Hundred Years of Jazz," at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14. The performances will be held in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall, 10th and Main streets in Rolla, Mo. The 9:30 performance is sold out; however, tickets remain for the 1 p.m. show. All tickets are $3.50 each.

StolenMoments-Jazz.jpg"Stolen Moments: The First One Hundred Years of Jazz," is presented by JazzReach, a New York City-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, creation, teaching and performance of jazz music. The multi-media program targets students in grades six through 12, and introduces them to jazz music's rich history and to the names, faces and music of some of its many masters. "Stolen Moments" also highlights the interplay between the jazz movement and the evolution of American culture throughout the 20th century.

The show has been highly recommended by many schools and performing arts organizations. A representative of The Orange County (Calif.) Performing Arts Center says, "We recommend JazzReach to anyone seeking a high-quality educational, motivating and artistically outstanding insight into the world of jazz and the development of its many styles."
